Actalent is hiring a Field Technician in Dayton, OH to support safe and reliable operation of electrical distribution systems. You will perform field inspections, collect data, and document low voltage equipment, preparing minor work orders and reports.

The role emphasizes outdoor work, physical activity, and the use of laptops, GPS units, and measurement tools to ensure accurate field data and timely project completion.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct detailed visual inspections in outdoor field environment.
• Proficient data collection and reporting for minor work orders.
• Basic computer skills including Excel for data entry and reporting.
• Experience with field measurement tools like height sticks and range finders.
• Willingness to learn National Electrical Safety Code and industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail on Low Voltage Distribution systems.
• Comfort working outdoors and performing physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Report to Dayton-area office daily and prepare for field work.
• Conduct visual inspections of distribution equipment for safe operation.
• Compile field data and prepare minor work orders.
• Maintain detailed reports of equipment, inspections, and measurements.
• Measure and map Low Voltage Distribution systems for design and planning.
• Identify and record equipment on poles and related components.
• Perform inventories and audits of distribution assets.
• Assist with permitting field work by gathering site data.
• Operate measurement tools and collect data in real time.
• Follow safety practices around electrical infrastructure.
• Aim to meet weekly billable goals and project deadlines.
• Collaborate with field team and office staff for data accuracy.
