Job summary

Isp is seeking a Field Technician in Las Vegas to install, troubleshoot, repair, program, and realign telecom equipment. Responsibilities include residential multi-point setups, wireless/microwave systems, and field IT repairs.

Must safely handle ladders and power tools, with up to 50 lb lifting., and travel to various sites for installations and maintenance. Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and solid networking/telecom knowledge.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Field Technician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, programming and realigning various types of equipment. Level 1 does residential Point to MultiPoint installations and all trouble calls except Point to Point.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain Internet equipment, including routers, switches, radios, network cabling.
  • Install and uninstall Wireless and Microwave systems.
  • Responsible for construction (any trade) - residential, commercial, or industrial.
  • Safely use and maintain power tools such as drills, portable saws, impact drivers and similar equipment.
  • Properly and safely use/ transport ladders ranging from 4ft to 40ft in working height.
  • Properly cut and terminate cables mentioned above.
  • Use cable testing equipment such as those made by Fluke or Ideal.
  • Install cables in conduit made of EMT, PVC, etc. and free to air or direct burial.
  • Properly use a fish tape or cable snake.
  • Perform all field installations, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Execute all internal and external company related projects.
  • Perform minor IT related repairs in the field.
  • Ascend heights on towers up to 160ft or more and up to 400ft or more on buildings to install or repair equipment.

Qualification and/or Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of networking and telecommunications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Prior experience in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.

Physical Qualifications for Internet Installer:

  • Physical Fitness: The ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and prolonged periods of standing or kneeling.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficient use of hand and power tools for installation and maintenance purposes.
  • Visual Acuity: The ability to distinguish colors and fine details for proper installation and troubleshooting.
  • Driving: Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
  • Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety protocols and practices to ensure personal safety and that of team members and customers.
  • Environmental Adaptability: Ability to work in various outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of networking concepts and the ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Customer Interaction: Good communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the job.

Pay:$18.00 per hour
