Job summary

Deus X Defense is seeking a Field Technician (Hardware Generalist) to keep drone systems operational across a region, with field travel to Saline, Michigan. You will learn hands-on from DXD engineers and support operations and field engineering teams to maintain coverage.

You should be comfortable working independently with phone/video support, and have experience with drones, hardware assembly, and troubleshooting. Startup experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Preference for candidates with hands-on experience with drones or drone hardware (flight operations, assembly, repair, or payload integration)
• Familiar with hardware assembly and disassembly
• Able to think through and troubleshoot hardware issues
• Engineering background preferred; relevant experience can substitute on a case-by-case basis
• Strong communicator who can work with engineers over the phone
• Comfortable working alone with only phone and video support from the team
• Experience with robotics or autonomous systems is a strong plus
• Experience in a startup environment is a plus

Field Technician (Hardware Generalist)

• Location: Field-based with on-site travel to customer location in Saline, Michigan
• Team: Operations & Field Engineering
• Level: Individual Contributor
• Hours per week anticipated: 1-2 hours per week anticipated
• Type: Flex Role
• Reporting To: Director, Solutions Architects
• Compensation: $30 for the first hour, $15 per hour for any additional hour after that
• Key Partners: Engineering, Operations, customer site contacts

POSITION SUMMARY

The Field Technician is Deus X Defense's hands-on hardware generalist for a region. This person keeps our drone systems fully operational and delivering persistent coverage at customer sites, in direct support of client safety and security. Through hands-on training from DXD engineers and remote technical support, the Field Technician serves as the regional technical resource, reasoning through difficult hardware issues and getting systems back in service.

Reporting to our Director of Solutions Architects, this individual works hand in hand with Engineering and Operations. We are looking for a generalist who loves hands-on problems, learns new technologies quickly, and is comfortable wearing many hats. Adaptability and resourcefulness are key.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

REGIONAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT
