Job summary

Pittsburgh Air Systems, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician to perform on-site start-up and checkout of HVAC control systems. You will ensure equipment readiness, document performance values, and troubleshoot to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

The role includes on-site startup of Johnson Direct Digital Controls and mechanical systems, with training provided at our Pittsburgh facility and at manufacturer locations. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate with HVAC or electrical degree.
• 1+ year HVAC field experience or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Start-up and checkout of HVAC control systems on-site.
• Perform electrical, airflow, gas and refrigerant checks and start-up.
• Provide technical support and customer service for the Pittsburgh Air Sales Team.

We are seeking a Field Technician to perform start up and check out of our HVAC control systems and equipment. The Field Technician is responsible for on-site startup and troubleshooting of our HVAC control systems to ensure that our customers receive an outstanding experience. Your ability to provide excellent customer service will enhance our customer relationships and the success of our Team.

Training will be provided for all products and systems that you will be working with. You will learn and gain experience in a broad range of HVAC products, systems, and controls. We will provide training at our facility in Pittsburgh and at various manufacturer’s locations.

Primary Responsibilities

Start-up of systems:

• Ensure equipment readiness for start-up
• Documentation of start-up process and performance values
• Electrical, airflow, gas and refrigerant check, test and start

On-site start-up of Control Products and Systems:

• Johnson Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Systems
• Lab and Healthcare Critical Controls

On-site start-up of Mechanical Products and Systems:

• Gas fired make up air units
• Commercial gas/electric Rooftop units
• Advanced fan systems with controls
• Calibration, Testing, & Compliance
• Provide technical support for products and systems
• Warranty repairs (Yaskawa only)
• Preventative maintenance
• Field measurement and verification of systems
• Customer service and parts selection
• Technical support for the Pittsburgh Air Sales Team
• Annual Service Contracts

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate; HVAC or Electrical degree.
• 1+ year of experience in the HVAC field in lieu of Technical School training.
• Good communications skills.
• Troubleshooting skills and abilities.
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to document daily work.
• Travel as required.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Service oriented mindset
