Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Field Technician in Wilmington, DE to support field operations, ensuring quality and compliance across infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes outdoor work, sampling soils and construction materials, with a focus on safety and accurate documentation. Requires relevant field experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of experience collecting soil, concrete, groundwater, or other construction material samples.
• 1+ year of experience working in construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control review and testing for construction projects.
• Review activities and provide oversight on projects in geotechnical engineering and construction.
• Field observation, testing, and sampling of soils, concrete masonry, and steel construction.
• Review, understand, and interpret project plans, shop drawings, product data, and RFIs.
• Complete field documentation (JSA forms, field reports, field notes, datasheets, chain-of-custody).
• Recordkeeping and maintenance of testing equipment.
• May include laboratory testing of soils and concrete.

Verdantas is seeking a talented Field Technician to join our team in the Wilmington, DE office. This hands-on role focuses on supporting field operations, ensuring quality and compliance across a variety of infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do:

• Perform quality control review and testing for construction projects
• Review activities and provide oversight on a variety of construction projects within the fields of geotechnical engineering and construction
• Field observation, testing, and sampling of soils, concrete masonry, and steel construction
• Review, understand, and interpret project plans and specifications, shop drawings, product data, and RFIs
• Completion of field documentation in a timely manner, such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms, project field reports, field notes, soil, concrete, and asphalt datasheets, monitoring, and chain-of-custody forms
• Recordkeeping and maintenance of testing equipment
• Additional tasks may include laboratory testing of soils and concrete
• Operate and maintain company vehicles

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 or more years of experience with collecting soil, concrete, groundwater, or other construction material samples
• 1 or more years working in construction
• Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment
• Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without an accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances
• Must have a valid driver's license

Salary Range:

The starting salary for this position is $20.00 an hour, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and licensing status
