Job summary

The RISE Group is seeking a Field Technician to assist Field Engineers with field condition assessment of boilers, vessels, piping, steam turbines, and related critical components in power, chemical, food processing and paper mill industries.

This role requires frequent overnight travel across the United States and beyond.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks and adhere to the company's safety policies and procedures.
• Organized, self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and conduct themselves professionally.
• Ability to effectively interact with employees from all levels within an organization.
• Ability to practice discretion and good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
• Field work in power plants or similar industrial facilities is a plus!
• Non-Destructive Testing is a plus!
• Hands on work experience in welding, machining, construction or a similar trade is a plus!
• A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is a plus!
• Certifications are a plus (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, ASNT, API, AWS-CWI)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for visual, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing.
• Learn and apply NDE sheets.
• Perform volumetric NDE inspections with Advanced Phased Array Ultra Sonics: Triple transducer crawler arrangement.
• Produce detailed inspection notes.
• Interpret, evaluate, communicate and report findings to production and Engineering.
• Interpret and review engineering drawings as required.
• Support the development of NDE inspection techniques for complex geometries.
• General laboring duties (equipment set up, equipment break down, gathering tools, etc.)
• Assist at the project site with field condition assessments.
• Assist at the project site with field inspections of various critical components.
• Operating various types of hand tools and power equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required to support the team.
