The Field Technician provides technical support to a large, varied user group and p participates in technical projects as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot all
- computer hardware and software
- projectors, Smart Boards, scanners, printers, and various peripherals
- wired and wireless connections and devices.
- Process warranty information and repair work with associated documentation.
- Respond to all inquiries promptly.
- Implement established hardware and software maintenance procedures.
- Maintain an effective understanding of Information Technology as it progresses over time and contribute ideas to develop new solutions. Create and maintain detailed records & notes relating to projects, hardware, procedures, etc.
- Consistently use official programs such as help desk ticketing, time tracking, etc.
- Deal impartially and justly with all persons regardless of their physical, mental, emotional, political, economic, social, religious, or racial characteristics.
- Support a collaborative working environment in which technology resources are available so that staff can perform efficiently and students can be successful learners.
- Communicate effectively with administrative staff, school principals and teachers.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Associate Degree in Computer Science, programming or related field, or substantial experience with Windows based computers, software and networking.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to educate users as well as provide straight technical support.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
- Experience with installation, maintenance and support of a large fleet / user base.
- Experience with a wide variety of hardware and software, as typically used in an education environment.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, maintain the confidentiality of privileged information and follow oral and written instructions.
- Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities.
- Ability to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions.
- Ability to consistently follow protocol and instructions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently, and with a team.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment as needed.
