Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Technical Trainer to lead hands-on and classroom training for service technicians and customers, including manufacturer and MSHA safety modules.

This is a travel‑heavy role requiring 70%+ travel to branches and training sites across the region. The ideal candidate brings five years of heavy equipment repair experience, deep knowledge of engines, powertrains, hydraulics, electrical, and braking systems, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Five years of technical/heavy equipment repair experience.
• Proficient with engines, powertrains, hydraulics, electrical, and braking systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to travel frequently to branches, technical schools, and events.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide and participate in technical training for technicians and customers.
• Deliver manufacturer and MSHA safety training.
• Develop and deliver hands-on training in classroom settings.
• Create training materials that support adult learning.
• Deliver aerial platform safety training for rental and service personnel.
• Offer OSHA certified safety training as requested.
• Travel 70% or more to each Kirby Smith branch.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
