Job summary

Pitney Bowes is seeking an Area Technical Specialist for Presort Services. This hybrid role requires managing equipment moves and providing on-site and remote technical support across multiple facilities.

You will train staff, conduct diagnostics, and collaborate with local vendors to maintain production equipment. The position emphasizes high travel, strong mechanical/electronic maintenance skills, and proficiency with Octave and MS Office.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technician or above in a production environment.
The ability to travel at least 65% of the time.
High level knowledge of various sorter vendor operations and functionalities.
Proficient knowledge of Octave, and Microsoft Office suite.
Strong mechanical and electronic maintenance knowledge across presort production equipment.
Experience with 2+ of Koerber, BlueCrest, NPI, Fluence, EII, Tritek, VideoJet.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and lead equipment moves.
Assist with MASS and MPE testing of the equipment.
Work with site teams and vendors to move, disassemble, reassemble, or scrap equipment.
Conduct equipment assessments and ensure software is current.
Provide hands-on training, remote escalation support, and on-site technical support as needed.
Assist site techs and analyze data to identify root causes.
Document solutions to escalation tracking tool.
Contribute to improving the AI troubleshooting solution.
