Wabtec in Los Angeles seeks a Field Service Representative to oversee field technicians across the LA territory and support warranty on transit projects. You will plan, execute, audit, and mentor field staff while maintaining strong relations with carbuilders and transit authorities.

Job description

Payrate: $40.00 - $40.00/hr.Summary:The Field Service Representative is responsible for managing (train, control, direct, oversee, & audit) the Field Service technicians assigned to the greater LA territory in the US. The Field Service Representative is required to support (along with his team) the warranty on all Wabtec products on all active Wabtec transit projects in the territory. He/she is also required to provide the following services: planning assistance, execution, oversight, and auditing of the Wabtec Transit Field Modification Instructions (FMIs). This position is also responsible for managing the warranty spares on the relevant projects in the assigned territory. This position must establish & maintain strong relationships with both the Carbuilders and the Transit Authorities in the territory.Responsibilities:

• Support the warranty of all Wabtec products on all active transit projects.
• Investigate and analyze failures of the Wabtec systems in the field and make recommendations to the relevant Project Manager. Produce Engineering reports when required, and support Wabtec`s customers as required.
• Understand Wabtec training material and documents.
• Support Training department(s) in the field.
• Assist engineering with ‘unofficial on-car training’ to the carbuilder and/or transit authority personnel, when required.
• Promote a strong safety culture (support & FMI) on the territory.
• Audit tooling in the field.
• Perform audits and then complete audit forms.
• Complete safety observation forms (for any field service activities).
• Complete training forms (for training done in the field).
• Follow all safety procedures for field activities.
• Assist the Project Core team by providing recommendations for the list of warranty spares for new active projects. Manage warranty spares across all active Wabtec projects.
• Review Field Support generated work orders for correctness & technical accuracy and provide feedback to FSRs.
• Fully utilize the work-order reporting system (Field Connect).
• Support the RAMS Engineer / FAR coordinator.
• Participate in conference calls and meetings to support the Wabtec PMs & FS managing teams.
• Review calibration and calibration procedures of equipment used in field applications. Ensure that all tools have current calibration certificates.
• Support the Project Management group on technical & logistics issues, as required.
• Support Wabtec Engineering personnel with technical feedback on their processes/designs/procedures.
• Develop and maintain strong relations with all Wabtec transit customers on the territory.

Education / Experience:

• Technical training course(s) is an asset
• Safety courses are an asset

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a technician
• Experience in Mass Transit or Rail is of value

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $40.00 - $40.00/hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
