Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech III to join the surgical team. The role supports surgeons and RNs before, during, and after operations, ensuring sterile technique and efficient workflow in a busy operating room.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, OR Technician training, and 2–3 years of OR experience. NBSTSA and BLS certifications are required; day shifts with full-time status. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in an OR setting preferred.
• Experience scrubbing across robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, plastic and trauma cases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to make calls, multitask, be flexible and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering patient care under RN supervision during surgery.
• Scrub in with surgeons and maintain sterile technique throughout cases.
• Coordinate with the team for pre-op and post-op responsibilities.

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.
