Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health operates Jersey City Medical Center’s Operating Room where an OR Technician III collaborates with the surgical team to support surgeons and RNs during all phases of surgery. The role requires scrubbing multiple service lines and strong communication to ensure patient safety and efficient workflows.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, complete OR Technician training, and 2–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program is required.
• 2–3 years of OR tech experience.
• Must scrub multiple service lines (robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic, trauma) and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and RN as part of the surgical team before, during and after surgery.
• Deliver patient care under RN direction and assume appropriate responsibilities in the operating room.

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.
