Pace® Labs in Sheridan, WY is seeking a Field Technician to support environmental sampling and testing across air, soil, and water. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with travel across the West Coast territory.

You will collect, process and test samples, prepare vehicles and equipment, and maintain accurate logs and documentation. A high school diploma is required and some lab or environmental experience is preferred; valid driver’s license and travel readiness are

This is a full-time, Field Tech 1 position located in Sheridan, WY, Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position requires traveling our West Coast territory: Montana (MT), Wyoming (WY), Colorado (CO), Utah (UT), Arizona (AZ), New Mexico (NM), and Idaho (ID). Compensation: $20.00 per hour The salary for this position reflects a variety of factors. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines may also influence the final offer.

Join us as a Field Technician, where you’ll support environmental sampling and testing activities across air, soil, water, and related areas. This role provides opportunities to build foundational field and environmental knowledge while supporting critical testing programs and customer needs.

What You’ll Do
  • Travel to customer and environmental testing sites
  • Collect, process and test environmental samples, including air, soil, water, and related media
  • Perform field services using standard environmental support practices, including sample collection, test kit completion, and documentation of results
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver samples, documents, materials, and results as required
  • Prepare vehicles for daily field operations, including instruments, supplies, kits, materials, documentation, and safety equipment
  • Complete and maintain logs, forms, databases, and other documentation accurately and timely
  • Assist with research and recommendations to resolve operational, customer, or employee issues
  • Support the review and implementation of field/environmental programs to meet operational and organizational needs
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; escalates issues when needed
  • Contribute to team effectiveness by offering suggestions for improvements
  • Promote Pace Analytical’s mission through professional, courteous, and cooperative interactions with customers and coworkers
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in related work preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • One year of experience in a laboratory or environmental setting is preferred
  • The ability to travel with some overnight stays
  • Must be comfortable operating a company vehicle equipped with GPS/telematics tracking and inward- and outward-facing safety cameras (no audio recording).
