Job summary

Pace Labs in North Carolina is seeking a Field Technician to join our environmental testing team. You will travel to customer sites, collect and test samples, and document results using established field procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel with some overnight stays. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and field operations demands.

  • Valid driver’s license required and maintenance of licenses/certifications as needed.

  • Travel to customer and environmental testing sites.

  • Perform field services using standard environmental practices and document results.
  • Prepare vehicles and equipment for daily field operations.
  • Complete logs, forms, databases, and other documentation accurately.

Field Technician Compensation: $17.50/hr Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (overtime as needed) The salary for this position reflects a variety of factors. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines may also influence the final offer.

What You’ll Do
  • Travel to customer and environmental testing sites
  • Collect, process and test environmental samples, including air, soil, water, and related media
  • Perform field services using standard environmental support practices, including sample collection, test kit completion, and documentation of results
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver samples, documents, materials, and results as required
  • Prepare vehicles for daily field operations, including instruments, supplies, kits, materials, documentation, and safety equipment
  • Complete and maintain logs, forms, databases, and other documentation accurately and timely
  • Assist with research and recommendations to resolve operational, customer, or employee issues
  • Support the review and implementation of field/environmental programs to meet operational and organizational needs
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; elevate issues when needed
  • Contribute to team effectiveness by offering suggestions for improvements
  • Promote Pace Analytical’s mission through professional, courteous, and cooperative interactions with customers and coworkers
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in related work preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • One year of experience in a laboratory or environmental setting is preferred
  • The ability to travel with some overnight stays
  • Licenses and Certifications
    Valid driver’s license
    Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining all required licenses and certifications in active status
