Job summary

Pace® Analytical Services in North Carolina is seeking a Field Technician I to support environmental sampling across air, soil, water, and related media. You will travel to client sites and perform collection, processing and testing of samples.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, some lab or environmental experience, and the ability to travel with overnight stays. The role offers a full benefits package and a schedule Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–3:30 PM.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in related work preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • One year of experience in a laboratory or environmental setting is preferred.
  • The ability to travel with some overnight stays.
  • Must be comfortable operating a company vehicle with GPS/telematics tracking and safety cameras.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer and environmental testing sites.
  • Collect, process and test environmental samples.
  • Perform field services using standard environmental practices.
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver samples and documents.
  • Prepare vehicles and maintain logs and documentation.
  • Support review and implementation of field/environmental programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Compensation: $17.50 per hour

Join us as a Field Technician, where you’ll support environmental sampling and testing activities across air, soil, water, and related areas. This role provides opportunities to build foundational field and environmental knowledge while supporting critical testing programs and customer needs.

What You’ll Do
  • Travel to customer and environmental testing sites
  • Collect, process and test environmental samples, including air, soil, water, and related media
  • Perform field services using standard environmental support practices, including sample collection, test kit completion, and documentation of results
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver samples, documents, materials, and results as required
  • Prepare vehicles for daily field operations, including instruments, supplies, kits, materials, documentation, and safety equipment
  • Complete and maintain logs, forms, databases, and other documentation accurately and timely
  • Assist with research and recommendations to resolve operational, customer, or employee issues
  • Support the review and implementation of field/environmental programs to meet operational and organizational needs
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; accelerate issues when needed
  • Contribute to team effectiveness by offering suggestions for improvements
  • Promote Pace Analytical’s mission through professional, courteous, and cooperative interactions with customers and coworkers
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in related work preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • One year of experience in a laboratory or environmental setting is preferred
  • The ability to travel with some overnight stays
  • Must be comfortable operating a company vehicle equipped with GPS/telematics tracking and inward- and outward-facing safety cameras (no audio recording).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining all required licenses and certifications in active status
