Job summary
Terabase Energy in Davis, CA is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to own the configuration, maintenance, and operation of MES software, PLCs, and network infrastructure in our solar construction field operations.
You will partner with operations and design engineering, act as the on‑site technical lead, provide Tier 1 support, training, and document system procedures while staying current with automation trends.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in manufacturing, industrial/utility field ops or related
- In‑depth MES, PLC, network management knowledge
- Strong ability to troubleshoot in networked hardware/software
- Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non‑technical staff
- Site‑based work across the continental US
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and operate MES, PLCs, network infra and related systems
- Collaborate with operations and engineering to ensure efficiency
- Troubleshoot and lead as on‑site tech lead
- Handle Tier 1 issues and escalate Tier 2 as needed
- Provide training and support to operations users
- Document system design, installation, and maintenance procedures
- Stay current with emerging automation trends and technologies
