Job summary

SubSea Craft in the United States is seeking a Systems Engineer – Platform & Mechanical Systems to own hull, propulsion, and mechanical subsystems, ensuring safety, reliability, and readiness for demanding customer-facing opportunities.

You will conduct rigorous pre/post‑operation checks, perform rapid field repairs, and apply root‑cause analysis to prevent platform failures while driving continuous improvement and adaptation of the vessels.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining marine, automotive, or mechanical systems.
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work in operational and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Platform readiness and maintenance: conduct rigorous pre/post‑operation checks and preventative maintenance to maximise reliability and availability.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and recovery: diagnose faults using instrumentation and engineering judgement; perform safe, rapid field repairs and return platforms to service.
• Data, analysis and improvement: capture operational data and lead root‑cause analysis to document lessons learned and drive improvements.
• Integration, modification and launch support: assist mechanical integration and ensure structural integrity and watertightness during payload modifications.
• Deployment logistics and field operations: manage packing, transport, spares, tools and site setup so platforms are ready for customer activity.
• Safety, compliance and professional standards: apply safe‑system‑of‑work practices and align with maritime, lifting and electrical safety standards.
