Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a System Engineer – Industrial Controls to design, implement, and support control systems for ISI customers in the Greensboro area. You will work on SCADA, PLC programming, CAD drawings, and industrial networking, with field support and site testing.

The role requires 1–3+ years of PLC programming and HMI experience, strong electrical knowledge, and a willingness to travel nationally. A clean driving record is required, and OJT is provided as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
1–3+ years' experience programming PLCs (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, MOSCAD, etc.).
1–3+ years' experience with computer-based HMI software (Wonderware, VTSCADA, Lookout, etc.).
Strong computer proficiency with instruments measuring pressure, flow, temperature, and level.
Clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

Provide industrial/commercial Control Systems engineering services for ISI customers in the local area (SCADA, PLC programming, CAD drawings, industrial networking, system calibration).
Support Instrument Technicians in the field with interfacing field devices to DCS/SCADA systems and testing.
Collaborate with other System Engineers to resolve project backlogs while maintaining relationships with contract customers.
Provide support for other projects within the ISI footprint as needed and report job activity with logs of service calls, parts, and orders.
Identify opportunities for upgrades at customer facilities and participate in travel to job sites using company vehicle.
Maintain knowledge of equipment and instruments, including hand tools and test equipment.
