Job summary
JT Automation, LLC. is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to develop and implement control systems for industrial machinery in Windsor, CT. You will select hardware, create schematics, develop software for PLC and PC-based systems, and refine user interfaces to meet customer needs.
The role requires knowledge of Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, IEC 61131-3 languages, and .NET, with hands-on experience in electrical schematics and panel fabrication. Some travel may be involved.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 languages and .NET (VB, C#) required.
- Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
- Ability to design effective and intuitive user interfaces.
- Ability to draft accurate electrical schematics.
- Must communicate with staff, customers, and vendors.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, UL508A, and NEC.
- Minimum 2 years of controls experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and customers to define control requirements.
- Select and specify control hardware with cost and capability considerations.
- Create complete control system schematics in SolidWorks Electrical.
- Develop and debug ladder logic, structured text, and VB.NET/C# code.
- Design functional UIs using .NET or dedicated UI hardware/software.
- Document code and prepare customer-ready software documentation.
- Interface with OEMs to integrate APIs and hardware.
- Assist training and support for customers.
- Assist fabrication of panels and enclosures.
- Develop machine vision strategies and software.
- Travel up to 10% to customer sites.
