Job summary

FCX Performance, an Applied Industrial Technologies company, seeks a hands-on System Engineer to deliver industrial control services on local projects. You will perform field engineering, PLC/HMI work, CAD drafting, and on-site calibration with daily travel to customer sites.

The role emphasizes practical, field-based problem solving with strong collaboration across engineering teams and technicians. A valid US driver’s license and work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience programming PLCs and process/flow control systems.
• 5+ years of experience with HMI software (Wonderware, VTScada, Lookout).
• Bachelor's or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics; practical field experience; advanced degrees not required.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and work authorization in the United States.
• Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Responsibilities

• Field Engineering & Support: provide local control systems engineering services for SCADA, PLC programming, CAD drawings, and calibration.
• Technician interfacing: assist field technicians with interfacing devices to DCS/SCADA systems and testing.
• Project & Contract Management: collaborate with engineers to manage backlogs and maintain client relationships.
• On-site Upgrades: identify opportunities for system and hardware upgrades at customer facilities.
• Documentation & Safety: log service calls and ensure safety protocols on active sites.
• Travel: operate a company vehicle to travel to local job sites daily.
