Job summary

Hardman Signs in Houston, TX is seeking a Field Surveyor to serve as the critical link between Sales, Engineering, and Production. This field-based role performs comprehensive surveys and site evaluations for commercial signage projects across the United States.

The ideal candidate will enjoy active construction sites, capture accurate measurements, and translate data for fabrication and installation. Travel 10–20 days per month with local trips in the Houston area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or field surveying.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, electrical and shop drawings.
• Willingness to travel 10–20 days per month and work at heights.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to become certified to operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, and swing stages.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed field surveys and site evaluations for commercial signage projects nationwide, capturing precise measurements and documenting conditions.
• Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and project documents to verify field conditions and identify challenges.
• Capture photographs and upload survey data, markups, and findings for home-office review in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with customers, general contractors, electricians, and installers during site visits; communicate findings clearly to internal teams.
• Assist with or provide onsite supervision for smaller projects and field troubleshooting as needed.
• Safely operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, cranes, swing stages, and other construction equipment; maintain survey equipment and company vehicles.
