Job summary

Southern Co. is seeking a Survey Technician (Statewide) to join the Land Engineering team. The role involves performing field survey duties, operating instruments, collecting data and producing plots and reports for various survey types across Georgia.

You will work with Carlson software, GPS (static/RTK) and CAD tools, with emphasis on safety and accuracy, and may join storm evaluation/restoration efforts as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Survey Technician (CST) or Surveying Certificate Program courses are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect survey data using field instrumentation and GPS (static/RTK).
• Perform boundary, topographic, route and deformation surveys.
• Prepare plots and reports; ensure data stored securely.
• Participate in storm evaluation/restoration teams if needed.
