Job Title: Land Surveying Crew Chief

Georgia Land Surveying has an opening for a Land Surveying Crew Chief position. We are a land surveying firm that performs boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys on commercial and residential properties. We also specialize in aerial mapping using manned and unmanned aircraft. Founded in 1955, we are a family-run business with a small, friendly atmosphere. Despite our size, we are a leading technology firm utilizing robotic total stations, RTK GPS, LiDAR, and a virtualized office with a hybrid in-person work schedule.

We seek an experienced land surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of conducting research, collecting field data, coding points to match existing line work, downloading data over VPN, and producing digital field sketches in CAD. This is a solo position, primarily in Metro Atlanta, with potential travel to other states.

Responsibilities

• Property research, including pulling deeds and plats, and running back chain of title
• Operating Robotic Total Station and RTK GPS
• Performing closed traverses and calculating EOC in the field
• Basic COGO calculations such as translate, rotate, inverse, and resection
• Plotting field data in CAD to create AutoCAD-based field notes
• Uploading data to the office VPN
