Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Survey Technician/Instrument Operator to support field crews.

You will operate robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios, 3D terrestrial laser scanners, and levels to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and one year of industry experience; willingness to travel; ability to work outdoors year-round.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet MVR standards.
• One year industry experience.
• Minimum knowledge of land surveying practices and basic types of surveys, computations, and field operations.
• Able to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Available to travel/stay out of town for work.

Responsibilities

• Use land survey instruments to support a field crew for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Assist in completion of field surveys under supervision; communicate progress and address problems.
• Operate land survey equipment including robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, 3D laser scanners, levels.
• Utilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform computations.
• Read and interpret maps and plans.
• Maintain neat field notes with accurate measurements under supervision.
• Load/unload equipment and supplies; maintain equipment and vehicle.
• Follow company safety procedures and practices.
