Job summary

NorthStar Energy Solutions is hiring a Survey Technician/Instrument Operator to work in the field on active construction projects. You will run survey equipment, collect accurate field data, and help lay out boundary, topo, and construction staking.

The job is outdoors year-round with travel as needed and a focus on safety and precision. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working long days on job sites, including travel for large infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform outdoor field work year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Understand standard land surveying methods and site plans.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Utilize multiple surveying instruments to collect boundary, topo, and construction staking data.
• Support field operations under Crew Foreman and report progress and field issues.
• Operate and maintain survey gear, GNSS, data collectors, and levels.
• Prepare organized field documentation and measurement records.
• Keep survey instruments and vehicles clean and in good condition.
• Adhere to company safety standards and procedures.
