Job summary

Verdantas LLC is hiring a Survey Technician in Ohio to support field surveys of boundaries, elevations, and topography. You will operate total stations, GPS/GNSS units, and levels, while assisting with setup, data collection, and documentation. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accurate data collection in a field environment.

The position is primarily field-based with periodic office tasks, offering growth in surveying and civil engineering technologies within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, civil engineering technology, geomatics, or a related field preferred.
• Zero to three years of surveying, construction, engineering, or related field experience.
• Basic knowledge of surveying principles and field procedures preferred.
• Familiarity with total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and levels beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveys of land features, boundaries, elevations, and topography.
• Operate survey equipment (total stations, GPS/GNSS, levels).
• Support setup, calibration, and maintenance of instruments.
• Collect, record, and organize survey data accurately.
• Assist with preparation of survey reports, maps, drawings, and documentation.
• Follow surveying standards, project specs, and quality-control procedures.
• Communicate field observations to the Survey Crew Chief or Lead Surveyor.
• Follow all safety requirements during fieldwork.
