Job summary

WHKS is seeking a detailed and technically oriented survey technician to join our civil engineering team in Minnesota. You will work with surveying and engineering professionals on a variety of field projects across the state, with potential overnight travel.

This full-time position offers benefits and opportunities to apply precision and problem-solving skills. You will perform boundary and topographic surveys, layout for projects, and field verifications, using GPS, Total Station, and leveling

Qualifications

0–5+ years of field survey and GPS experience.
An Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field is preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
Excellent computer and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and handle workload.
Able to perform physical tasks and operate equipment safely.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform boundary and topographic surveys, platting, and construction staking for various private and public projects.
Perform project staking and layout.
Complete survey computations.
Verify field dimensions and elevations to project plans.
Operate survey equipment utilizing GPS, Total Station, and leveling instruments.
Perform other survey-related duties primarily in the field.
