Job summary

SAM is seeking a Field Survey Technician to support field crews with data collection for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. The role uses robotic total stations, GNSS, 3D scanners, and data radios to capture geospatial data accurately.

You will read maps, perform basic computations, and maintain precise field notes. The position requires outdoor work year‑round and occasional travel to project sites, under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with surveying fieldwork and basic computations is a plus.
• Ability to read maps and plans and work outdoors in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support a field crew by gathering data for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Assist in field surveys under supervision and communicate progress.
• Operate survey equipment such as robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios, and 3D scanners.
• Use survey software to collect geospatial data and perform computations.
• Read and interpret maps and plans.
• Maintain neat field notes and ensure accurate measurements.
