Job summary

McAdams is a full-service land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and geomatics firm with offices in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Florida. The Survey Technician partners with the Professional Land Surveyor to prepare comprehensive survey documents using AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, and Civil 3D, while maintaining meticulous records and field notes.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
BS or associate's degree with emphasis on Surveying, Geomatics or Computer Aided Drafting; NSPS CST II preferred.
2–5 years of surveying experience.
Strong knowledge of geometry, trigonometry and surveying fundamentals.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Prepares survey documents per state/local standards (ALTA/NSPS, Existing Conditions, plats).
Writes legal descriptions for survey documents.
Performs land records research and references government offices.
Compiles deeds and plats into a deed sketch.
Assists with staking computations and field crew packages.
Represents McAdams in the field with professional image.
