Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Orange office is seeking a Party Chief to lead field surveys for ALTA, boundary and design topo projects. This on-site role involves preparing field notes, processing GPS data, creating AutoCAD Civil 3D maps, and drafting legal descriptions for rights of way and easements.

The ideal candidate has LSIT/PLS (preferred), a relevant bachelor’s degree, experience with GPS RTK and static data collection, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Salary range $90,000–$110,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in surveying or engineering is required or preferred.
• LSIT/PLS certification is desirable.
• Experience with GPS RTK and static data collection is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform medium-scale field surveys for ALTA, engineering design topo and boundary purposes as party chief.
• Prepare field notes and sketches, pre-calc and download field data; process data using Star*Net.
• Research boundary and easement documents and perform boundary analysis.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys and related exhibits.
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for rights of way and easements.
