Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc. in Fort Worth seeks a seasoned Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveys for land development, transportation, utilities, and energy projects.

You’ll operate Trimble GPS and robotic total stations, supervise crew members, and ensure data accuracy, safety, and timely reporting to the office. Local travel is required; a Texas driver’s license and the ability to travel daily to DFW project sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience as a Crew Chief in boundary, topographic, ALTA, TxDOT surveys, and construction.
• Experience with Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble Data Collectors, and GPS equipment.
• Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel daily to project sites in the DFW area.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate in a multi-discipline team under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead or independently conduct field surveys, ensuring work is accurate, efficient, and safe within project scope and budget.
• Supervise and mentor crew members, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
• Operate Trimble GPS, Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble Data Collectors, GNSS, and other specialized equipment for data collection and construction layout.
• Perform in-field calculations, construction stakeouts, prepare cut sheets, verifying data accuracy and collaborating with office staff as needed.
• Prepare clear field notes and daily reports; promptly transfer digital data and photos to office staff.
• Interact professionally with site supervisors and client representatives, ensuring strong communication and service.
• Act as site safety leader by reviewing hazards, PPE requirements, and enforcing safety standards.
