Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Survey Instrument Operator to work with a survey crew chief in the field collecting data to support design activities, boundary surveying, providing sketches, and layout for construction projects.

This role requires extensive travel to project sites. The ideal candidate will operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors in various environments, perform field work for land surveying scopes, and organize survey logistics.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate GPS and total station in static and RTK modes for control networks, boundaries, ALTA, and topography.
• Must be able to carry and operate survey equipment and data collectors in field environments.
• OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid, or the willingness to obtain.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving history.

Responsibilities

• Discharge duties as requested by Crew Chief
• Perform field work for land surveying scopes including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography
• Organize survey truck, equipment, and supplies
• Operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders
• Maintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
• Adhere to Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies
• Lead by example with good judgment and professionalism
