Job summary

Ardurra Group, Inc. is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator I to join our field team in Mesa, AZ.

The role involves operating survey equipment such as total stations, GPS bases, data collectors, and levels, and assisting the Survey Crew Chief on Boundary, Topographic, Construction, and Utility surveys. The candidate will learn to setup equipment, collect and export data, maintain gear, and uphold safety and professional standards on daily field assignments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be team-oriented and self-motivated.
• Capable of working with others and following instructions completely and accurately.
• Functional use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at work on time, dressed and prepared to work.
• Assist Party Chief in information gathering.
• Clear brush and trees using a machete and brush axe.
• Set up safety signs and cones as directed.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment and clothing.
• Locate boundary markers using magnetic location equipment.
• Upload point files and enter coordinates in data collector.
• Learn to set up electronic equipment and use data collector for locating objects and lines.
• Learn to code points/lines and save collected points.
• Export files from data collector for office project files.
• Keep the survey truck and equipment organized and charged.
• Represent Ardurra professionally.
• Learn field procedures for various surveys.
• Learn to identify toxic plants, dangerous animals, and insects.
• Learn basic first aid.
• Obtain OSHA 10-hour safety certification (company provided).
