Job summary

Bohler’s Charlotte, NC office is seeking a Survey Crew Member to join our field team, supporting boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys across the Charlotte Metro area. You’ll work alongside a Crew Chief and project team, gaining hands-on experience with current equipment and field methods.

This entry-level role offers exposure to industry-leading technology, with opportunities to progress toward Crew Chief, CAD, or project management paths.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; surveying coursework preferred.
• 0–1+ years of boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys or construction stakeouts.
• Working knowledge of survey equipment and methods preferred.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Support Crew Chiefs in boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys
• Conduct as-built surveys and assist in field data sketches
• Operate Trimble Total Stations and GPS equipment
• Perform field calculations, sketching, and basic quality checks
• Help maintain and perform minor preventive maintenance on survey instruments and vehicles
• Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and field safety
• Work outdoors year-round, contributing to projects that make a visible impact
