Job summary

Pennoni Associates Inc. is seeking a Survey Crew Lead to head field surveys in the Berryville, VA area. You will steer a crew through boundary, topographic, and construction projects, using total stations, GPS, and robotic instruments.

The role requires 4+ years in field/land surveying, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in the field. Preference for those with surveying credentials and experience with Leica, GPS, and trend-setting surveying technologies.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional experience in Field/Land Surveying and/or Construction.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Completion of surveying training or credentials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field survey crew in geodetic surveys for boundary, topographic, construction, and engineering projects.
• Operate total stations, data collectors, GPS systems, and robotic instruments.
• Gather field data using conventional, robotic, GPS, or aerial methods (e.g., drones).
• Adjust and operate surveying instruments (prisms, total stations, GPS/EDM, auto-levels).
• Prepare field notes and drawings for complex survey calculations.
• Instruct and train crew in surveying methods, equipment use, and safety procedures.
• Perform computations and QA/QC checks.
• Safely operate ATV, UTV, or similar vehicles.
• Deliver high-quality work and excellent customer service; assist with end-products.
