Job summary

Pennoni Associates Inc. is seeking a Field Technician in the Virginia Beach, VA area to lead field crews and perform geodetic surveys for boundary, topographic, construction, and engineering projects.

You will operate total stations, GPS systems, and robotic instruments, gather field data by multiple methods, and train the crew in surveying techniques and safety. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional field/land surveying experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in geodetic, boundary, topographic, construction surveys.

Responsibilities

• Lead field survey crew in geodetic surveys for various projects.
• Operate total stations, data collectors, GPS, and robotic equipment.
• Gather field data using conventional, robotic, GPS, and aerial methods.
• Prepare field notes and drawings for complex calculations.
• Instruct and train crew in surveying methods and safety requirements.
• Perform computations and QA/QC checks.
• Safely operate ATVs/UTVs as needed.
• Deliver high-quality work and strong customer service.
