Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Crew Chief to join our Survey team in San Antonio, TX. The role involves leading small crews on terrestrial and boundary surveys, stakeouts, and as-built surveys for residential and commercial properties, with access to hi-definition laser scanners for data collection.

Able to supervise crew members, perform field surveys, and prepare detailed notes and reports; you will also mentor staff and ensure safety standards are followed on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is required.
• Prior crew chief experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with data collectors, data collection techniques, robotic instruments, field note-keeping, total stations and leveling.

Responsibilities

• Lead one, two or three-person crews on survey projects.
• Plan and perform a variety of field surveys within project scope and budget.
• Supervise and direct other survey crew members.
• Interact with project site supervisors and client field representatives.
• Prepare accurate field notes and reports of daily activity in a timely manner.
• Perform in-field calculations for construction stakeout with office support.
• Operate and maintain survey instruments and equipment.
• Mentor field survey staff to facilitate advancement.
