Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is staffing a Surveillance Quality Engineer role on a major construction project in Houston, TX. You will support the implementation of surveillance activities for the project QMS, review applicable quality requirements, monitor non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risk.

Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2–5 years (or 6–9 years) of relevant experience, with strong ISO 9001 knowledge and QA program experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) plus 2–5 years experience, or 6–9 years total experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard requirements.
• Experience conducting assessments.
• Knowledge of quality assurance requirements and their application on project functions.
• Experience implementing quality assessment programs.
• Knowledge of EPC industry QA applications.
• Ability to analyze causes and implement corrective actions.
• Experience interfacing with supervisors and customer quality reps.
• Understanding design, procurement, construction, startup, commissioning requirements.
• Ability to plan and conduct quality assessments for major industrial construction.
• Flexibility to urgent requests and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support surveillance activities as part of QMS and PQP.
• Prepare the annual project surveillance schedule.
• Prepare surveillance reports.
• Monitor project functions including PM, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Review nonconforming conditions and corrective actions.
• Ensure QMS compliance in engineering, procurement, and construction assessments.
• Review QA procedures and execution plans for QMS compliance with contract requirements.
• Ensure QMS compliance with design documents and procedures.
• Assist causal analysis and develop corrective actions.
• Incorporate design/procurement/construction docs into assessments.
