Field Support Technician

We are seeking a reliable and technically minded Field Support Technician to provide hands‑on technical assistance with computers, network equipment, hardware, software, and other IT systems. This role involves responding to technical requests, troubleshooting issues at customer or company locations, installing equipment, and helping maintain reliable technology operations.
The ideal candidate has strong problem‑solving skills, a customer‑focused approach, and the ability to work independently in different field environments. Previous IT support or technical experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on‑site technical support for computers, hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software issues.
- Install, configure, and replace computers, printers, monitors, and other IT equipment.
- Set up workstations and assist with user technology requirements.
- Diagnose connectivity and basic network‑related issues.
- Respond to service requests and technical support tickets.
- Document troubleshooting steps, equipment changes, and resolutions.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT teams when necessary.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Assist with device deployments, upgrades, and replacements.Configure user devices according to established company procedures.
- Support basic account, access, and connectivity issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for IT equipment and peripherals.
- Coordinate with vendors or third‑party service providers when required.
- Provide users with basic guidance on hardware and software usage.
- Follow company security, safety, and IT support procedures.
- Travel to assigned locations as required for field support activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology is a plus.
- Previous IT support, help desk, desktop support, or field technician experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Good communication and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests.
- Comfortable using common IT support tools and software.
- Ability to lift and transport standard IT equipment when required.
- Valid driver's license may be required depending on assigned locations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar technical certification.
- Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365, and common desktop applications.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi, printers, and network connectivity.
- Experience with ticketing or IT service‑management systems.Experience with hardware installation and device deployment.
- Previous experience providing technical support at multiple locations.
