Job description

*Description*

This role involves 75% travel throughout the Southern Alabama area to provide hands-on support that cannot be resolved remotely by the helpdesk. The technician will perform break-fix tasks, swap out machines, image, and repair various hardware and software issues. Responsibilities extend from the wall jack to the monitor. The individual will set their own daily schedule and coordinate with business partners, requiring self-motivation and independence. A clean driving record is necessary as the role includes driving a company vehicle, which must be parked on-site each night. The work hours are flexible with a variable start and end time.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Proactively assess technology needs, recommend solutions, and identify automation opportunities.
  2. Collaborate with the business and other departments for incident and problem resolution.
  3. Provide specialized technical support upon request by business partners.
  4. Educate business partners on effective technology utilization.
  5. Support during project implementations.
  6. Build strong relationships with key business partners and deliver excellent customer service.
  7. Work with other support teams to ensure comprehensive support.
  8. Discuss technology costs with partners for budgeting and billing.
  9. Support storm-related and critical operations, including after-hours support if needed.
  10. Stay informed about emerging hardware and software technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in office computing environments: PC hardware, Windows 10, Microsoft Office suite, and infrastructure.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with partners, vendors, and teams.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Customer service orientation with commitment to deadlines.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accident, hospital coverage, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, EAP, PTO, and more. Eligibility and specific benefits depend on employment status and elections.
