Job summary

First Point Group is seeking a Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) to support SQE activities at supplier facilities. The role requires extensive travel to tanking, fabrication, testing, coating, and shipment processes, with weekend and overnight work as needed.

The SQR will monitor supplier quality, perform inspections, document nonconformances, and coordinate corrective actions to ensure conformance with codes and project requirements. Field-based travel is a core element of this position.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience involving 2,000 hours of in-shop surveillance, examination, or testing activities; or
• High school diploma or equivalent and 1,000 hours of in-shop surveillance, examination, or testing activities; or
• Associate Degree, or the equivalent of two years of full-time college coursework in a related discipline, plus 500 hours of in-shop related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities.
• General manufacturing and fabrication processes
• Valid driver's license and ability to routinely travel to supplier facilities throughout the assigned territory.
• Ability to obtain and maintain client, facility, security, and/or export-control access as required.

Responsibilities

• Review procurement and purchase order requirements with supplier representatives to ensure requirements are understood, communicated, and properly implemented, including client-specific and code-driven requirements.
• Participate in supplier kickoff, pre-fabrication, and pre-inspection meetings.
• Confirm applicable witness and hold points, inspection and test plans, documentation requirements, material traceability, and quality expectations before fabrication begins.
• Verify that approved procedures, qualified personnel, calibrated inspection and test equipment, current drawings and revisions, and released materials are available before work begins.
• Perform surveillance activities in accordance with the assigned scope and Company quality surveillance plan.
• Monitor supplier activities and witness applicable operations, inspections, examinations, and testing to verify compliance with procurement requirements.
• Identify and document nonconformances, working with suppliers and project quality personnel to achieve disposition and corrective actions.
• Release conforming material for shipment and provide timely surveillance reports to project personnel and customers.
• Coordinate with expediting personnel to ensure quality and fabrication progress information remains aligned.
• Maintain inspection assignments and quality records in Company systems.
