Job summary

City of Houston’s Houston Public Works is seeking a Field Supervisor for Pavement Markings operations at 2200 Patterson St, Houston, TX 77007. Workdays are Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, subject to change.

This role oversees installation, maintenance, and replacement of pavement markings, RPMs, and other traffic control devices to enhance roadway safety and mobility. The Field Supervisor will supervise field personnel, ensure compliance with MUTCD and city standards, maintain records, monitor

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Four years of progressively responsible work experience in the maintenance field.
• Requires a valid Texas driver’s license.
• Preference for Pavement Marking and Sign Maintenance experience.
• Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants per Executive Order 1-6.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pavement markings operations, including installation, maintenance, and replacement of markings, RPMs and other traffic control devices.
• Supervise daily field operations, ensuring work complies with MUTCD, City standards, and safety regulations.
• Plan, organize, assign, and review field personnel and contractor activities to ensure proper implementation and timely completion.
• Coordinate emergency response operations during hurricanes, flooding, severe weather, and other incidents to restore safe roadway operations.
