Overview

The Instrumentation and Controls Field Superintendent (I&C) will lead the team through layout, planning, and execution of the assigned project scope on a semiconductor construction project. The I&C Superintendent is situated in the field, reports to the Project Superintendent, and collaborates with Hoffman project teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives with a focus on safety and integrity. This position is fully onsite at the project location in Boise, ID.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 DOE + Incentives.

Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities with other superintendents, I&C subcontractors, and other discipline subcontractors.
• Supervise multiple subcontractors and craft employees.
• Maintain and adjust the project schedule as necessary.
• Manage RFIs (requests for information) and submittal materials for review with the Client/Architect.
• Manage and support cost control and QA/QC program.
• Manage and abide by all safety protocols.
• Provide resolution to design and constructability issues.
• Respond to customer/client requests and/or issues and develop resolution to problems using technical expertise.
• Interpret and implement proper exterior work completion in compliance with local authority permitting, codes, and site specifications.
• Provide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates.
• Facilitate contractor activity ensuring performance by all contractual agreements.
• Assist with management project staffing.
• Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

Professional Experience and Education

• A minimum of ten (10) years' instrumentation and controls construction experience required.
• Analysis, measurement, and control of process variables; design and implementation of systems with variables such as pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, force or speed.
• Extensive experience with I&C installations on large industrial and hi-tech fabrication projects (highly preferred).
• OHSA 30 Certification.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field work experience preferred.
• Education background in materials and methods of mechanical construction.

Position Related Skills

• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams); general understanding of working within a computer network.
• Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6.
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
• Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
• Experience organizing technical data; familiar with CSI specification system for construction.
• Understanding of elevator installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Strong visual observation, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure; effective time management and multitasking.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable to varied teams and leadership levels.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or off-shift as construction schedules require.

Physical And Mental Requirements

• Standing/Walking/Sitting: combination of stationary and movement at the work location.
• Climbing stairs; ability to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs; work in confined spaces.
• Manual dexterity to operate a computer and office equipment; handling materials as needed.
• Vision and hearing requirements appropriate for outdoor environments and active construction sites; must wear hearing protection as necessary.
• Lockstep communication in English for procedures and safety protocols.
• Lift/Carry: ability to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 3 feet and carry or push 50-100 feet.
• Ability to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed to inspect project work.
