Chamberlain Advisors is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to lead commercial construction projects onsite in Milwaukee from groundbreaking through final closeout. You will serve as the primary field representative, oversee day-to-day activities, coordinate subcontractors, protect schedules and budgets, and uphold safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of commercial construction supervision, strong leadership, and a proven ability to resolve field

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial construction field supervision.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors on complex projects.
  • Experience reviewing drawings, RFIs, and contract documents.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and quality control.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certifications.

Type: Direct-Hire, Full-Time

Summary

Chamberlain Advisors is currently seeking an experienced Field Superintendent for our client, a nationally recognized design-build organization specializing in commercial construction and renovation projects. This position will provide onsite leadership for commercial construction projects from groundbreaking through final closeout. This individual will serve as the primary field representative, overseeing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.


The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with extensive commercial construction experience, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to proactively resolve field challenges while collaborating closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, owners, and municipal agencies.


What You Will Be Accountable For


  • Lead all onsite construction operations, serving as the primary field contact for subcontractors and trade partners throughout the duration of assigned projects.

  • Coordinate daily jobsite activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract documents and company standards.

  • Establish and maintain overall jobsite logistics, including temporary utilities, trailers, fencing, dumpsters, sanitation facilities, and site organization.

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, shop drawings, addenda, and project documentation to identify potential issues before construction activities begin.

  • Identify design conflicts and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.

  • Develop, update, and communicate master construction schedules and two-week look-ahead schedules while coordinating subcontractor sequencing.

  • Lead jobsite meetings with subcontractors, owners, consultants, inspectors, and project teams, documenting discussions and action items.

  • Coordinate inspections, permitting, testing, and regulatory compliance with municipalities and agencies including OSHA, DNR, DOT, and other governing authorities.

  • Monitor workmanship and construction quality to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and company quality standards.

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by conducting safety observations, reviewing subcontractor safety plans, maintaining SDS logs, correcting unsafe conditions, and ensuring OSHA compliance.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including daily reports, meeting minutes, weather logs, progress photos, testing documentation, and field records utilizing Procore and other construction management systems.

  • Review and authorize field work orders while partnering with Project Managers regarding change orders, schedule impacts, and field issues.

  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Safety Managers, architects, engineers, owners, inspectors, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

  • Participate in preconstruction planning meetings, owner meetings, billing coordination, and project strategy discussions.

  • Lead project closeout activities including pre-punch inspections, final punch lists, owner manuals, closeout documentation, warranty coordination, and callback support.

  • Complete accurate weekly time reporting, expense reporting, and additional project documentation.

  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.


What Qualifications You Need


  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial construction field supervision experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating complex commercial construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, safety regulations, and quality control processes.

  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, and contract documents.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction best practices.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.

  • Basic computer proficiency and experience utilizing construction technology.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • OSHA 10 certification required.

  • First Aid and CPR certification.


Preferred


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • Experience utilizing Procore construction management software.

  • Bilingual communication skills.

  • Additional construction management training or certifications.
