Job summary

Timber Wolf Excavating, LLC is seeking a seasoned Field Superintendent to lead complex excavation and site development projects from conception to completion. You will guide crews, coordinate field operations, and liaise with clients, engineers, and inspectors to deliver safe, on-time, and within-budget results.

This senior role requires deep knowledge of excavation methods, blueprints, safety management, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in excavation, grading, or heavy civil construction.
  • 3+ years in a superintendent or senior supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expert knowledge of excavation methods, grading, utilities, and site development.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and safety management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with project management software and scheduling tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record; CDL preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage multiple excavation projects simultaneously.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all field operations and activities.
  • Supervise foremen and field crews, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure complete understanding of scope.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate with project managers.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and safety compliance.
  • Serve as primary on-site contact for clients, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project budgets, track costs, and identify potential cost savings.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, local codes, and company safety policies.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings and enforce safety protocols on all job sites.
  • Manage equipment allocation and logistics across multiple projects.
  • Resolve conflicts and problems in the field quickly and effectively.
  • Review and approve daily reports, timecards, and material requisitions.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and manage inventory.
  • Mentor and develop foremen and crew members.

Position Overview
