Job summary

Advantage Technical in Northern California is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field execution on a large-scale mission-critical data center project. You will coordinate electrical and MEP trades, monitor safety, quality, and schedule, and report to project leadership.

The role requires strong leadership, OSHA-30, and proven ability to manage multiple crews, resolve field conflicts, and ensure commissioning readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction field supervision experience.
• Strong electrical construction and field-management background.
• Experience managing subcontractors, field crews, and concurrent activities.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Equivalent craft-level and field experience considered.

Responsibilities

A leading construction and engineering organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Superintendent to support a large-scale mission-critical construction project in northern California.

About the Role

FIELD SUPERINTENDENT – ELECTRICAL

• Location: Northern California
• Project Type: Mission-Critical / Data Center Construction
• Work Arrangement: Onsite with per Diem - 200/day 7 days a week -
• 50-60 hours a week OT over anything 40

Position Overview

This individual will work closely with project management, construction leadership, subcontractors, and trade partners to manage daily field execution and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements. The Electrical Field Superintendent will play a key leadership role coordinating multiple trades and work scopes in a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing electrical and MEP construction activities on data center, hyperscale, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or other mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily field construction activities across electrical, MEP, civil, structural, and architectural scopes.
• Direct subcontractors, trade partners, supervisors, and field personnel to ensure work remains aligned with project schedule and design requirements.
• Develop and execute short-interval plans, look-ahead schedules, and daily work priorities.
• Monitor field productivity, manpower, constraints, and installation progress.
• Identify schedule risks and implement corrective actions to maintain project momentum.
• Lead daily superintendent coordination meetings, field walks, and safety briefings.
• Enforce project-specific safety requirements and OSHA standards.
• Participate in safety inspections, audits, incident reviews, and corrective-action activities.
• Monitor field installations for quality, constructability, code compliance, and adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
• Work closely with QA/QC teams on inspections, punch lists, testing, and turnover activities.
• Support startup and commissioning by ensuring systems are construction-complete and trades are prepared for functional testing.
• Coordinate major electrical and MEP systems including:
• Switchgear and power distribution
• Underground and overhead utilities
• Building electrical systems
• Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower updates, progress photos, field records, and as-built documentation.
• Communicate schedule status, labor requirements, constraints, and field issues to project leadership.
• Review RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, estimates, and construction documents as they relate to field execution.
• Identify design conflicts and constructability issues and coordinate solutions with Engineering and project stakeholders.
• Respond to client requests and field issues using sound technical judgment.
• Ensure installations comply with applicable permits, building codes, local authority requirements, project specifications, and design intent.
• Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Support project staffing and manpower planning.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction field supervision experience.
• Strong electrical construction and field-management background.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, and technical documentation.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable building codes and electrical construction standards.
• Ability to coordinate multiple scopes while managing changing priorities and field conditions.
• Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
