Job summary

A leading engineering and consulting firm is seeking individuals to join their Utility Services Department in New York. The role involves locating underground utilities, working in a small team, and collecting data for utility assessments. Ideal candidates will have utility designation experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
• Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time).

Responsibilities

• Location of underground utilities such as water, gas, power, fiber optic, and telephone.
• Work as part of a two to four man crew.
• Collection of existing conditions information for the assessment and identification of underground utilities.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of vacuum excavation truck.
• Implement new technologies and methods.
• Provide support for land survey in the creation of topographic maps.

Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

Typing ability

Familiarity with iOS operating system

Knowledge of AutoCAD

Knowledge of Microstation

Utility designation experience (1-3 years)

Familiarity with iPad or tablet

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associates degree preferred
