Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a SUE Technician to perform subsurface utility investigations at the Atlanta, GA site. You will locate underground utilities, interpret field sketches, and support project teams to ensure accurate data and safe excavation practices.

The role requires 1–2 years in SUE or related fields, familiarity with QL methods, reading plans, and a strong attention to detail. Travel and weather exposure are expected as part of field duties.

Qualifications

• Must have a highschool diploma or GED and a clean driving record.
• 1-2 years of experience in SUE, utility locating, or a related field.
• Familiarity with SUE methods (QL-B, QL-C, QLD, QL-A).
• Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR, electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation techniques.
• Accurately locate and identify underground utilities (gas, electric, water, telecom).
• Prepare and interpret field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure accurate reporting and safe excavation practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
• Assist with preparation of reports, deliverables, and field notes.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and functional condition.
