Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp seeks a Substation Electrician I for field-based projects across the United States. This entry-level role provides hands-on training in substation operation, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, under supervision.

The position requires full-time on-site presence with extensive travel, safety compliance, and the ability to read schematics and construction drawings. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 2 years of electrician experience as Substation helper or equivalent.
• Diploma/certificate from High School, GED, or Line School.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Safety certifications (e.g., flagger training, OSHA certifications) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safety compliance and program participation; engage with the team to ensure safety and report hazards.
• Installation and maintenance of HV and LV substation equipment; interpret diagrams and drawings.
• Assist with excavation, site preparation, and maintain tools/equipment on site.
• Maintain site cleanliness and communicate deficiencies to supervision; work with crew on-site; follow safety around energized equipment.
