Job summary

Ursus, Inc. seeks a Structural QC Inspector in Robstown, TX, onsite for a 3-6 month contract. You will support the Structural QC Lead by verifying that all structural-related activities conform to engineering designs, codes, regulations, and Tesla standards.

This role includes field inspections and QC documentation to help achieve project quality objectives. Responsibilities include inspecting fabrication, erection, and installation; performing weld inspections and coordinating NDE; inspecting

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a structural QC inspector on large-scale industrial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret discipline-specific technical documents and communicate clearly.
• Solid knowledge of quality control program requirements and key construction codes (AWS, AISC 360, RCSC).
• Proficient with inspection tools and testing methods (weld gauges, calipers, NDE methods).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel fabrication, erection, and installation per specs and codes.
• Perform visual weld inspections and verify weld acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate NDE activities (UT, MT, PT, RT) and ensure certification compliance.
• Inspect high-strength bolted connections and verify bolt installation per specs.
• Verify material traceability and PMI; track MTRs and heat numbers.
• Document nonconformances and drive corrective actions with the lead.
• Maintain inspection records, logs, and turnover packages for QA acceptance.
